Summer in St. Germain
This northern Wisconsin lake is our destination for one week every summer. Not every day looks this nice, but it’s a great family vacation spot even in less desirable weather.

I didn’t have time to work the composition much, but I thought this was an interesting scene because it was so typical in “Up North”, Wisconsin.

Nothing special, but I was out wandering with the 60mm macro lens, and I found this in a planter near the road.

This was part of a dead tree branch we spotted on a walk, and although these look something like pinecones, I’ve never seen them in this state before–they look like they’re covered in cement.

I wasn’t carrying a spray bottle, so these are legitimate raindrops gathered on the leaf.

This scene was just outside of a restaurant in St. Germain, Wisconsin. It’s apparently an old garage building (not part of the restaurant), and when I saw the glass on its side, I wondered how it got there and how long it had been lying there.

On a visit to St. Olaf, a Christian college in Northfield, Minnesota, our tour included a stop in this sanctuary. I thought the pattern was interesting.
